How to stop my mind from wandering?

I've started meditation a few days a go but it's difficult to keep my mind straight.

I know it's part of the struggle but I just think I have a bad attention span.

Any tips?
 
It's perfectly normal for your mind to wander; it's what minds do. The key is to notice when it happens and gently bring your focus back to your breath or whatever you're meditating on.

50% of my time meditating is just my mind wandering and that's ok

Just don't force yourself too much. Listen to your body needs. The more you resist, the harder to meditate. Just inhale, exhale.
Plus you can try to give some calming aromatherapy to breath. My personal favorite is cinnamon and vanilla.
