Will start the ball rolling with one of my personal favourite HKM
This is prob one of the "wettest" Hokkien Mee in SG
The stock is packed with seafood unami
Wok Hei is minimal as it is the wet style but that's probably why I like it so much cos it's not as greasy/heavy as the other famous dry HKM
Price starts from $5.50 and the portion is very generous
Rating: 4 out of 5⭐

This is probably one of the most classic version of HKM, i.e. if you google HKM you will find a image of the dish that looks exactly like this!
It has all the qualities of a good HKM - decent wok hei, noodles fried to a nice done gooey texture and generous amount of pork lards

I love Hokkien Mee. Discovered another stall.

Michelin star. Free flow lime. Free flow chilli. Wet type. Prepare to Q at least half to one hour. Can ask for fried pig oil.

I rate it 4.5 out of 5

ABC Market used to have a couple of decent ones, not sure if those are still there and decent.
The kopitiam opposite AMK Hub (AMK 347 Food Hub - 347 Ang Mo Kio Ave 3, Singapore 560347) has a stall that sells above average Hokkien Mee and the elderly couple are nice people too.

Fusionopolis basement 2 Kopitiam also has a stall, dabao still taste nice, stallkeepers are very friendly and courteous too.

Lastly, people are saying that this charcoal-cooked HKM is legendary. Is it true? - Swee Guan HKM - 5 Lor 29 Geylang, Singapore 388060

This is a super old timer and popular HKM stall!! I think now is the second or third gen taking helm of the business already

I like this stall too - super eggy and great unami from the seafood stock

Downside is their opening hours very short and always long Q :(

AH ONG Hokkien Mee
This is a little under the radar stall located in a quiet coffeeshop at 68 Geylang Bahru
This HKM stands out for its fresh seafood ingredients! As this stall sells seafood soup as well, so they prob have a better stock of seafood such as prawns & squid that are used in their HKM.
Taste wise it's pretty decent too and stands right in the middle of the spectrum in terms of wetness

Can try Youfu:

Eh my hometown here also got a Youfu stall. Anybuttie here can give a verified recommendation? Ish the quality consistent?

I will go try Youfu next

The prob is all their outlets not convenient for me

I like the wet version too. Hence like the Nam Sing at old Airport. However q is long, portion small & quite rude. Swee Guan is not bad but long q & very Expensive too. Since got other alternatives, I go to Ghim Moh. I will try the ones recommended above plus someone recommended Hougang JTM. Will try when I am nearby.

If you like the wet version, you should try Hoe HKM at Northbridge road hawker! Big generous portion & the owners are very friendly nice folks

Recently I just tried First Street HKM at Upp Serangoon and Ah Jie HKM at AMK central, both are slightly wet type and nice too

Swee Guan is super expensive, chao tar and rude so I will not recommend it here haha 😄

If you like wet style HKM, must eat there. Usually I da pao back the noodles becomes soggy cos absorbed all the gravy aldy

But for dry style HKM the taste does not change even when da pao so nowadays I only take away for those dried style HKM

Think will go try Hoe, purvis and Hougang next. Won't go back to shiok (since so little liao)if the other 3 are better & value for $5.

Wa...Can don't spoil market or not? Just buy the lowest & eat other things....It's encouraging them to profit more as the increase in portion with a few dollars is very little too. $5 or $6 is a lot already as we are eating in a coolie environment.
So, verdict on AH Jie got fight with Hoe?
